- British Prime Minister Theresa May resigns due to her repeated failure to pass her Withdrawal Agreement. She is replaced by Boris Johnson.
- Just months after ascending to office, a British general election boots Boris Johnson out of office, and he is replaced by Jeremy Corbyn and his Labour Party.
2020
- Democratic Nominee Joe Biden of Delaware is elected President of the United States, defeating incumbent President, Donald Trump.
