20 Oct. 2025	Conservatives win in Canada	Canada	At the 2025 federal election in Canada, Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative Party won a majority, in the process ousting the Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after a decade in office. Frustration had built up against Trudeau due to his increasingly social liberal policies, which were viewed by many as out-of-touch.

25 Apr. 2027	Le Pen elected in France	France	Marine Le Pen of the hard-right party National Rally won the 2027 French presidential election. She beat the hard-left Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the second round on a platform against immigration and pension reform. Outgoing President Macron’s preferred successor, Édouard Philippe, comes third.
13 Jul. 2027	Algeria Falls to Turmoil	Algeria	Insurgents, islamists, and street protestors had held Algeria in a standstill by Summer 2027. The county collapsed into a state of chaos, with millions of refugees trying to flee to Europe to escape the violence. The ensuing crisis caused controversy, and anti-immigration parties resultingly gained popularity.
22 Dec. 2027	A Second Term for Meloni	Italy	In Italy, Giorgia Meloni’s national-conservative Brothers of Italy party was re-elected to head up another centre-right coalition. Prime Minister Meloni’s tone and language had moderated over the last five years, and she held relatively positive approval ratings, resulting in modest gains for her party.
1 Mar. 2028	The Ukrainian Referendums	Russia Ukraine	The Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which had been under UN supervision since the end of the Russo-Ukraine War in 2026, voted to join Russia by overwhelming majorities. The results were recognised by the UN but not by Ukraine as they claim ethnic-Ukrainians would have been displaced by the war.
12 Jun. 2028	US realigns itself in NATO	United States - (NATO Member States)	With the US Secretary of State Richard Grenell attending NATO summits instead of President Donald Trump, it had become clear that the US had taken a backseat to Europe. The US’s role in the alliance is radically re-orientated to diminish it’s own obligations, although still keeps to its defence commitments.
12 Sep. 2028	Taiwanese Independence	Taiwan	Taiwan votes to assert itself as an independent country from the People’s Republic of China in a referendum. Renouncing its official name of the Republic of China, Taiwan instead simply opts for the name of the Republic of China. Beijing sees this as an act of aggression, whilst the US vows to protect Taiwan.
